Kodiak College is moving full steam ahead on conservation stewardship initiatives including: replacing 100% of KOC's standard electric light fixtures and bulbs to energy saving varieties; creating a raised bed garden in our parking lot, growing vegetables to donate to shelters which feed those in need; using recycled paper and less ink-intensive design for printing brochures, posters and other ad materials, recycling plastics, cardboard and paper; and using indigenous plantings in landscaping which requires less water, soil treatment and fertilization for growth.
